Like acting, singing or dancing?

The Garage is a lively cultural venue in the city centre of Norwich. We offer a varied programme of creative activity ranging from workshops to residencies, projects and regular classes. There are activities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds but our special focus is young people aged 8-25.

Some courses they are running over the autumn term:

Full Tilt Youth Dance Company (Age 14-25 yrs)

Full Tilt Youth Dance Company (Age 14-25 yrs)

Full Tilt is a committed performance group attending classes on a regular basis. The group works on technique, improvisation, choreographic skills and creates new work for performance. Members participate in local, regional and national platforms and have opportunities to work with visiting artists. Full Tilt meets on Monday evenings during school term-time.

Mondays, 7:30 – 9:15pm, 17 September – 26 November

Street Dance – 13-19 yrs – Explore street and hip-hop dance in this fun and energetic class.  Improve your skills and gain confidence as you learn the latest moves to your favourite hip-hop tracks.

Every Monday, 5.45pm – 6.45pm – 1st October – 10th December 2012

Break Dancing – 13-19yrs – A chance to learn and develop new breaking skills in our Breakdance crew lead by Kel FX

Every Friday, 6.30pm- 7.30pm

 

Norwich Young Peoples Theatre provides drama, singing and dance classes to inspire and develop the creativity of all young people aged 5-25.

YOUNG SOUND ENGINEERS PROGRAM
Thursday 4pm – 6pm
Ages 16 – 25, free, Venue – Open in the City Center

DJ WORKSHOPS
Thursday 5pm – 7pm
Ages 11 – 19, free, Venue – Open in the City Center

DJ WORKSHOPS
Includes beat matching, pitch mixing, scratching, turntable tricks, mixing positive and clean music beats CD and Vinyl. Young people will work with the different music styles they enjoy – hip hop, R’n’B, Drum & Bass, breakbeat, Electro House and so on.
Mondays 7.30-9pm, St Frances, Heartsease. £1 entry

RAPPING/MC’ING
Includes making positive clean lyrics and poetry alongside musical beats.
Mondays 7.30-9pm, St Frances, Heartsease. £1 entry

MUSIC PRODUCTION
Includes learning how to use music production programmes to make up songs and beats.
Mondays 7.30-9pm, St Frances, Heartsease. £1 entry

RECORDING STUDIO SESSIONS
Tuesday 4pm – 7pm
Ages 11 – 19, free, Venue – Open in the City Center

TAIKO DRUMMING

St Johns Ambulance: If you’re aged between 10 and 17 years old, you can join one of our Cadet units, which operate throughout the country. At Cadets it’s all about fun, adventure andcommunity.
